PASMA training in Riyadh, KSA – mobile scaffold tower course by Etihad Pioneers

PASMA training teaches workers to assemble, move, inspect and dismantle mobile aluminium scaffold towers safely. At Etihad Pioneers Training Academy in Riyadh, every course combines short classroom sessions with hands-on tower building. As a result, delegates leave able to put up a safe tower on site, not just describe one.

We deliver PASMA training to contractors, maintenance teams and facilities companies across Saudi Arabia. Courses run at our Riyadh training centre or, alternatively, on-site at your premises in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and beyond.

Why PASMA Training Matters in Saudi Arabia

Falls from height remain one of the most common causes of serious injury on Saudi worksites. Mobile scaffold towers are quick and flexible to use. However, a tower that is badly assembled, overloaded or moved incorrectly can collapse or overturn.

The Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association (PASMA) sets the recognised training standard for mobile access towers. Consequently, many contractors across the region ask for PASMA-trained workers when towers are used on site.

How Our PASMA Training Works

Each course follows a clear, practical structure:

  1. Classroom theory. First, trainers explain tower hazards, the relevant safety guidance and the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. Demonstration. Next, the trainer builds a tower step by step, showing the correct safe assembly method.
  3. Practical assembly. Then delegates work in small teams to erect, move, inspect and dismantle towers themselves.
  4. Theory and practical tests. Finally, delegates complete a short written test and a practical assessment.

What Delegates Learn on PASMA Training

Safe Tower Assembly Methods

Delegates learn both PASMA-recognised assembly methods:

  • Advance Guardrail (AGR), where temporary guardrails are put in place before the delegate stands on the platform
  • Through the Trap (3T), where the delegate stays protected inside the trapdoor while fitting guardrails

In addition, delegates practise safe dismantling, which is often where accidents happen.

Tower Stability

  • Following the manufacturer’s height-to-base limits
  • Fitting stabilisers and outriggers correctly
  • Checking ground conditions and, in particular, uneven or soft surfaces
  • Locking castor brakes and adjustable legs
  • Understanding how wind and side loads affect stability

Moving a Tower Safely

  • Lowering the tower, if required, before moving it
  • Clearing the route and, as a result, avoiding obstacles and overhead hazards
  • Never moving a tower with people or materials on the platform

Tower Inspection

  • Carrying out a pre-use inspection before each shift
  • Spotting damaged, missing or incorrect components
  • Recording inspections, so your team can show evidence to site supervisors and auditors

Who Should Attend

PASMA training suits anyone who builds, moves or inspects mobile towers, for example:

  • Maintenance technicians and engineers
  • Electricians, painters and decorators
  • Facilities management teams
  • Construction and fit-out workers
  • Site supervisors who check towers before use

Training Delivery Options

  • Classroom and practical training at our Riyadh training centre
  • On-site training at your premises anywhere in Saudi Arabia
  • English or Arabic delivery, depending on your team
  • Small groups, so every delegate builds and dismantles a tower themselves
